Microsoft has released a solution for its ZIP extraction failure, which affects the few users who installed the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, version 1809, prior to when the rollout was halted.

The cumulative update KB4464455 has long been offered to Windows Insiders for the Slow and Release Preview rings, bringing the Windows 10 1809 build up to 17763.107.

The update delivers the same fixes that Microsoft released in preview on October 16, which addressed something Manager issue showing incorrect CPU usage and several other other bugs.

Aside from that it includes two additional fixes, including one of the ZIP bug that surfaced in the near future after Microsoft had pulled the Windows 10 version 1809 release stemming from users experiencing severe data loss after installing the update.

"We fixed hoaxes difficult where dragging (extracting) files with a .zip file in File Explorer for a write-protected location you don't get a "Do you'll want to replace these files" prompt also, the copy action fails silently," explained Microsoft.

Microsoft has provided a workaround to make the ZIP-extraction bug and also has warned users against using Cut and Paste to get items due to a compressed .ZIP folder this is because it could delete dealing with files.

KB4464455 also fixes difficult "causing roaming profiles never work correctly", Microsoft noted.
